Global NEST Journal

Global NEST Journal is an open access journal that publishes original research articles, short papers and critical reviews on all aspects of Environmental Science and Technology.

Thematic areas include water and wastewater treatment and reuse; circular economy and bioeconomy; environmental biotechnology and bioenergy; sustainable energy; solid waste management; environmental management and policy; biodiversity conservation; environmental pollution; hydrology and water resources management; and climate change.

Submitted manuscripts are initially reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and the Managing Editor, then assigned to Associate Editors who oversee the review process. Papers are selected after rigorous peer review by at least two reviewers who evaluate significance, originality and suitability for publication. We aim for a turnaround time of four weeks from submission to first decision.

The journal is addressed to professionals in academia, consulting offices, government agencies and organisations, as well as others responsible for investigating and evaluating complex environmental issues of global interest.

Global NEST Journal is indexed in SCOPUS, ISI and ICI. The 2024 Scopus CiteScore is 2.36, ranked Q3 for Environmental Science (miscellaneous); H-index 41; SJR 0.250; SNIP 0.48; and the 2025 Journal Impact Factor is 1.7.
