Micropollutants and Emerging Contaminants
The journal Micropollutants and Emerging Contaminants focuses on the study, detection, behaviour and impact of micropollutants and emerging contaminants on the environment and human health.
Its scope includes the sources and types of micropollutants — pharmaceuticals, personal care products, microplastics, pesticides and industrial chemicals; their transport, transformation and degradation mechanisms in water, soil, air and biological systems; innovative detection and quantification methods, including advanced analytical techniques and sensor technologies; treatment and removal technologies such as advanced oxidation processes, membrane filtration and bioremediation; environmental and toxicological risk assessment of contaminants and their by-products; and regulatory and policy developments for pollution control and sustainable management.
The journal aims to promote interdisciplinary research and support science-based decision-making for a cleaner and safer environment.
